We are excited to say Tollgate Farm Park was awarded the 2023 King County Executive’s John D. Spellman Award for Exemplary Achievement in Historic Preservation in the Restoration category. This one of a kind project owes its creation to extensive team work between Si View Metropolitan Parks, the City of North Bend, and community grant support. The award is in recognition of the completion of a decade-long plan to reinvigorate Tollgate Farm as a public agricultural hub featuring a fully rehabilitated historic farmhouse, new barn, recreational trails and an educational kitchen garden. The farm site was once one of the earliest and most successful dairy operations in the Snoqualmie Valley, however the farmstead buildings stood vacant and deteriorating after dairy farming ceased in 1948, and the land was leased for pasture. The City of North Bend acquired the 410-acre farm site and surrounding area in 2001 to protect it from suburban development.
