Sailing the High Seas … of Elliott Bay

To celebrate one of the last fine afternoons of summer, we set sail from Pier 56 on the yacht S/V Neptune’s Car. Fortified with a bevy of snacks and beverages, we admired the city skyline then crossed the expanse of Elliott Bay to appreciate the wooded shorelines and waterfront homes of Bainbridge Island then scooted along West Seattle and visited some seals. Designed for racing, the yacht banked steeply into the wind, threatening to topple unwary Bergerites head-over-heels into the bay—okay, it wasn’t nearly that dramatic, but it sure was a lot of fun!
