Big Ass Rocks (BARs)
We’re happy to report a successful BAR (Big A$$ Rocks) siting at Riverfront Park this week. The jumbo-sized weathered granite rocks, some with mica and quartz, weigh about 30,000 lbs. each according to the scale on the crane. The three BARs that are sitting on/in the concrete wall were expertly placed to project into the boardwalk (not built yet). The boards will be scribed to the stone for a nice tight fit. Just for reference, a car weighs about two tons and these BARs weigh 15 tons, or 7 cars worth!
