Confluence Park Keeps Growing

Just a year after opening, Confluence Park in Issaquah’s historic downtown held a picnic and celebration of past success while also looking to the future in anticipation of Phase 2 in 2015. Planned improvements for Phase 2 will include a major creek enhancement project, while Phase 3 will add significant park elements and potentially a long-anticipated bridge crossing the confluence of the east fork and main channel of Issaquah Creek. Not content to wait for the future, today’s celebration was marked with a tree planting by students from a local elementary school as well as downtown residents and supporters, with planting coordinated and coached by the Issaquah Parks Department. It was a great event and we all enjoyed getting a little bit dirty as we planted our own trees as part of a future urban forest!
