Block 45

A street edge courtyard and mid-block crossing activate the western edge of Seattle’s dynamic South Lake Union neighborhood. This new office space, built to host Amazon employees, offers clean aesthetics and modern amenities such as a rooftop fire pit, green roofs, intimate spaces for gathering, and a sunlit, sweeping plaza home to the suspended art installation “Nebulous” by Dan Corson. Thoughtful lighting details make the space equally as vibrant during the evening hours highlighting the gracious curves of two arching benches that stretch toward the pass through connecting 9th Avenue to the eastern alleyway.

Streetscape plantings held in raised steel beds are pollinator friendly and drought tolerant. The project is targeted for LEED Gold and Salmon Safe certification.
