A cookie-baking throw down was announced earlier this week by Jasmeen Bains, host of our Friday 4PM Happy Hour otherwise known as Beer Friday. Jasmeen combined her amazing graphic talents and hostess techniques to instigate an afternoon of excessive sugar consumption tempered by bourbon-laced, homemade eggnog. Cookie submittals included Mexican wedding cookies, gingersnaps, peppermint cookies and cream, the classic chocolate chip and several ambitious shortbread options. Following an afternoon of taste testing, votes for the 11 entries were tallied and this year’s winner was … the Lemon Drop, a lovely and refreshing bite of shortbread topped with a lemon citrus frosting.
