In Celebration of Earth Day…
We are honored to be a contributing team member to the highly successful Bullitt Center and adjacent McGilvra Place Park, both of which are the first in the world of their typology to be certified by the Living Building Challenge.
The story of the Bullitt Center is featured in a new book titled The Greenest Building: How the Bullitt Center Changes the Urban Landscape. Jonathan Morley and Rachael Meyer, quoted in the book, served as the landscape architects and spent countless hours researching materials, process and construction methods to integrate the Bullitt Center’s landscape with the building’s wastewater and stormwater systems while meeting the stringent Living Building Challenge requirements.
The Bullitt Center now demonstrates innovative sustainable building technologies and practices, and serves as a regional headquarters for urban sustainability and education. The book can be purchased through the International Living Future Institute’s website.
