This 56,000-square-foot building houses health labs, clinical simulation classrooms, computer labs, faculty offices and support space. Berger Partnership’s involvement included initial hardscape layout and a fountain that provides visual and audio interest for the entry courtyard. Ease of maintenance while providing visual interest was the primary consideration for the landscape design. Plantings reflect the building’s character while enhancing the Allied Health building’s relationship to the adjacent Student Center. Medicinal plants add another layer of interest to the project. Two areas on the building are roof gardens that complement the building design. A unique collaboration with the design team during the site design resulted in the incorporation of on-site stormwater infiltration areas into the planting areas. The project aims to achieve LEED Silver rating.
