The Berger Partnership worked on this one-half acre property in the Green Lake/Phinney Ridge Neighborhood was once a kitchen-garden and orchard for a 1920's home. Purchased by the Seattle Parks Department, the Linden Orchard P-Patch and Park has become a neighborhood gathering place. Separating the Park and P-Patch is a design element that is both playground and water recycling feature: the arroyo streambed. Surgace water from the park hardscape is captured in an underground cistern where it is available by hand pump for watering the P-Patch gardens or for release into the streambed. The planning process involved community participation. go to the next page
