This master plan shapes Redmond's civic campus into a destination park for the city's residents and visitors alike. The park is designed to improve the function of the civic campus while serving as a gathering place for civic celebrations, a passive escape from the downtown, and an opportunity to reconnect with the natural environment. A driving force in designing the space was the creation of a strong link between Redmond and the re-imagined Sammamish River as a passive backdrop, a place to congregate and an opportunity to enhance river habitat.
