The City of Redmond acquired the Redmond section of the former Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Corridor in July 2010. The Berger Partnership is providing landscape architecture and master planning services for this project, working to create a vibrant regional trail and downtown park space. Providing both active and passive open space, the project will celebrate the rich history of the corridor as a railway and incorporate art throughout. Planning for the corridor will also focus on providing better connections to downtown from outlying areas as well as improving circulation in the downtown corridor.
