This project brings to fruition a community-driven master plan process for an existing facility that will provide a truly usable park to the community. The park's history includes a variety of uses including the recent occupation by two Seattle Public Utilities water reservoirs. With the lidding of one and decommissioning and filling of the other reservoir, park users will gain approximately 35 acres of new open space. Features of the park include a community gathering space near the existing community center, a children's play area, new tennis courts, a restroom building, a network of Olmsted-inspired walking paths and lawns, future synthetic surfaced athletic fields, and large groves of trees. Construction is currently underway.
