Chief Sealth High School is perched on a hillside adjacent to Longfellow Creek in the Westwood neighborhood of West Seattle. We are working with Bassetti Architects to upgrade a portion of the 17-acre High School site and integrate the new Denny Middle School building into the campus. Our work includes all the site design for outdoor courtyard spaces, learning areas, a wetland nursery for a Middle School program, and pedestrian and vehicular circulation. A primary goal of our work is to implement low impact development standards that will attain goals set forth in the Washington Sustainable Schools Protocol (WSSP). Objectives for the project include stewardship of the land for environmental education, adding to the legacy of student and community work to restore the Longfellow Creek basin, and achieving a multicultural design aesthetic for the campus.
