Roosevelt High School is a land marked structure that sits prominently in it's surrounding neighborhood. The overall design for the new campus respects the historic design of the 1922 and 1928 buildings while creating outdoor spaces for students to congregate. A new student courtyard will feature decorative terra cotta volutes salvaged from portions of the old building, unit pavers and seating opportunities complimenting the adjacent commons and cafeteria. The design has been sensitive to several mature trees on the campus, including one of the largest Scarlet Oaks in the state of Washington.
